Bad news from the stars : they are dead !
Do you remember superman? Do you remember how untouchable he was, whereas everybody knew about his miracles? That is the superman paradox : hypervisible but untouchable… Indeed, I would say that it is the very rule of star system. A movie star, a rock star, even a TV star, a fashion star… why are they stars ? Because everybody see them, on TV, on cinema, on the radio, even in the press…
Their problem nowaday is that Internet is changing the deep nature people do have with the media and the events. First, everyone can choose the event that really interest him. Topics are divided in subtopics, etc. That is the long train phenomenon. So the identity of anyone will be structured by the segment he will choose or will be guided to choose. That is the first attack on the star, stars, will only be seen by a segment of people.
The second point is that identity is often build on an exchange with the one you admire (teacher, singer, actors, anyone you trust indeed). As the identity is in stakes, people won’t tolerate anymore the untouchable part of the starsystem rule. So, the quality of the interaction i not god enough, they will change the segment and find another authority to exchange with.
So, bad news from the stars…
