Dude, spell check... this is why blogs are not taken seriously, half of them use run on grammar and terrible spelling...

Also, Apple may have been in the running in each of those categories, however, they were not able to compete and thus fell out of the market eventually or they cater strictly to a niche and thus limit their exposure / market share (which is true about everything they've ever done, other than the iPod, although the Zune is quickly catching up).

I am the proud owner of an Android phone (Samsung Moment with Sprint 4G) and I must say, compared to my buddy's iPhone, this thing has far surpassed it, and it is only version 1.5! I can't wait until I get Android 2.1 on my phone.

Indeed, Apple has often lost the standard battle since their products are dedicated to an elite.
But somehow they lead the standard creation since others are usually imitators of Apple's innovation.
Strange case!
But my point was really on their communication and nothing more, they are many things to say on Apple.

I like your point and it could explain partially Apple's continuous innovation. However, it is worth noticing that, from a sales view point, Apple lost against IBM on PC and also against Microsoft on OS. On the other hand, IBM PC division is dead (bought by Lenovo). Microsoft is really struggling to go beyond OS. And Google's innovation is slowing down drastically.
So Apple is indeed still here innovating 25 years down the round but will it be able to win against Google? We shall see...
