Coud anyone say he had never googled the name of one of his client, boss, job-candidate, friend ?

That is a fact, we are all chasing on the web the prints let by the people we are interested in. Since we are doing this we can assume everybody doing so. For some of us, it means that time for personnal branding has come, according to them we should control our web image to offer the best of us to our natural audience. That is partly true, just see how facebook profile photos are worked… But I think the phenomenon encompasses a larger story.

First, is not easy to keep everything under control. Nobody is protected from an old photo from an old friend almost forgotten, a campaign of haters on his blog,… Add to this, that when something has been on the web for one day, it is on the web forever. Honestly, our image is not under control. And so what ?

It is the end of privacy? Who cares… that will reveal what real life is. Moment of glory, of doubt, of pain, with all the situation that goes along. Indeed, we will learn that people are more complex than we knew before… It is not the end privacy, it is the end of clichés, of stories, that’s all. May be that is good to see that humans are humans.

Anyway, what is in stake is your own image on the web. Since every people you meet will check it you’ve got to take of it.
