Robert, put a smile on your face !

Robert Scoble is not satisfied with his comments ! Sometimes some valuable comments just disappear in the long tail of his threads… Except that all bloggers do not share the same problems, I think the question is really interesting. It could be easy for a blog platform to offer the possibility to bloggers to highlight some comments and that would please Robert S.
Nevertheless, giving this option is not very ethic. It would mean that the blog author would manipulate the discussion on his blog. Robert feels that is not really good because when a commentator suggests him to delete useless comments he replies “I don’t like editing people’s comments”. It shows that a blog is really a media of discussions. So it has to respect rules of discussions : a leader that introduce a topic (the host blogger), free speech for every visitors and an equal treatment of every comments.
But how to put a smile back on Robert’s face? I think it is important to create the “space” for edition. A place of subjectivity would be perfect, that would show web contents just as each of us would like to see it. So Robert could select and show everyone how he wants his article to presented to HIS audience. I have a good news for you Robert, that is exactly what pearltrees is about. It will go live soon (march 2009).
