Yesterday, I read the wikipedia article about DNA. I have been fascinated by how four simple pieces of information associated with a format the DNA could code the whole biodiversity. For four pieces of information code the whole life! Amazing.

Strangely it reminds me and made me realized the huge potential of what I am working on : the idea of “edition”. Let me make myself clear! In every media editors do exist. They are organizing contents using a specific format aiming at telling a meaningfull story to their audience. In TV chanels the program director selects broadcasts or series or movies (contents) and organizes them on a schedule aiming at satisfying an audience. In a museum, the art commissioner selects art pieces (content) and organizes them in a museum (the format) in order to tell a story about someone, an historical era, a movement… And it is also true for a newspaper, concert hall, theater…

But what is link with my entrepreneur life? I am currently working on “pearltrees” which aims to gather the first community of web editors. This means that everyone will be able to see his navigation, to select websites (the information) and to organize them in a pearltree (the format we invented). Thus everyone will build stories from websites sequences and will communicate them.

Of course that is just a part of what will be possible on pearltrees but it is alreaday exciting. Just think about what nature has done with DNA.
