The power of images

These last days, I looked back to the years I spent in advertising industry wondering why I liked so much. Of course, the environment was stimulating, the job was all about being sound and creative and my mates were smart trend setters… All things I appreciated a lot.

But undoubtedly, there were drawbacks. The crisis in traditionnal media is affecting the business model of agencies. The new generation of marketing directors that manage their career plan rather than their brands eradicate every inch of creativity in order to limit the risks. And eventually the pressure was really high.

Still, I like advertising because it produces and changes representation. Look at the picture above, it is one of the 60’s pop idol in France. They became one of the famous iconic couple of their generation. But just looking at this picture, I feel love and happiness. Indeed I was not fascinated by advertising but by the power of images.
